Clay Alspaugh, Associate |
Clay joins the New York office as a member of the Product & General Liability practice group. Following law school, Clay was an associate at a firm in Birmingham, Alabama where he gained significant courtroom exposure representing corporate and individual clients in commercial, real estate, and general liability disputes. Clay has handled several lawsuits from pre-litigation phase through trial, and, in several cases, through appeal. Clay earned his J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law and his B.A. from Vanderbilt University.

Brigget joins the Sacramento office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. She has over five years of experience as a law clerk and associate attorney for both applicant and defense Workers' Compensation firms, including serving as in-house counsel for a government agency. Her family operates a fourth-generation farm in Yolo County, so she is passionate about representing employers. Brigget earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Arizona.

Wade joins the Dallas office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He is Board Certified in Health Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. For 25 years, Wade has represented health care systems and facilities of all sizes and individual practitioners in outcome-critical litigation and complex regulatory and compliance matters. Wade earned his J.D. from Baylor School of Law and his B.A. from Abilene Christian University.

Danielle joins the Denver office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. She focuses her practice on effective case resolution both in and outside of the courtroom, involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination under Title VII, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, CADA and other federal and state statutes. Danielle earned her J.D. from the University of California Davis School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Davis.

Samantha joins the Seattle office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. She represents businesses in employment discrimination matters, large-scale wage-and-hour litigation, and agency charges. She also advises businesses on employment matters including training management and HR, handbook drafting and updates, policy updates, employment and severance agreements, and internal investigations. Samantha earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and her B.A. from San Diego State University.

Brian joins the Manchester office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. In recent years, along with performing proposal management and other sales operations tasks, Brian has specialized in contracts drafting and negotiation work in the software industry, primarily licensing and professional services contracts. Before that, Brian represented secured creditors in bankruptcy and as a national counsel plaintiff's attorney for insurance subrogation claims that involved complex product liability litigation as well as actions in negligence. Brian earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and his B.S. from the University of Vermont.

Carlos joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Carlos represented clients in a wide range of matters including personal injury, landlord tenant, and immigration cases. As a former police officer and criminal investigator with local Bay Area agencies at the local, county, and state level, he has over fourteen-years of law enforcement experience. In addition, Carlos is a decorated Iraqi combat war veteran and served in the United States Army. Carlos earned his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and his B.S. from California State University, Sacramento.

Earl joins the Omaha office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He handles all aspects of insurance defense claims from pre-suit advice/discussions with adjusters, to litigation and through appeals. He is experienced in handling a large volume of cases with high-dollar demands and exposures. In his career, he has tried over 35 first chair civil jury lawsuits to verdict in state district courts. Earl earned his J.D. from Creighton University School of Law and his B.A. from Hamilton College.

Marie joins the Miami office as a member of the Employment Law, Commercial Litigation, Insurance, and Appellate practice groups. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Marie worked for a number of federal judges including, United States District Judge Jerry Buchmeyer, United States Magistrate Judge Paul D. Stickney, United States Magistrate Judge John J. O’Sullivan, and United States Magistrate Judge Alicia M. Otazo-Reyes. She also worked at several law firms focused on commercial litigation, bankruptcy, insurance, and white collar criminal defense. Marie earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and her B.A. from Pennsylvania State University.

Nicole joins the Seattle office as a member of the Construction and Commercial Litigation practice groups. She represents commercial construction industry clients as outside civil litigation counsel. Her practice focuses on assisting general contractors in all phases of project administration and delivery in the commercial contracting arena. Nicole has extensive experience with contract interpretation disputes, delay and impact claims, contract terminations, construction defects, mechanics’ liens, bond claims, and injunctions. Nicole earned her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and her B.A. and B.S. from Rutgers University.

Sara joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Employment Law and Retail & Hospitality practice groups. She has extensive experience managing employment litigation, including multiple wage-and-hour class actions, as well as representing clients in proceedings before the EEOC, DFEH and other government agencies. She assists clients with the defense of suits involving sexual and racial harassment, racial and gender-based discrimination, ADA violations, FMLA violations, and other statutory and common law claims. Sara earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Davis.

John earned his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and his B.S. from San Diego State University.

Christopher earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law and his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Billy joins the Little Rock office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He represents clients in matters related to business transactions, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, business/commercial litigation and contractual disputes, asset protection, trusts and estates, and real estate. He has successfully defended involuntary bankruptcy proceedings and successfully prosecuted bankruptcy adversary proceedings. He has assisted clients with distressed asset and property acquisitions through 363 sales. Billy earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.A. from Park University.

Courtney joins the Nashville office as a member of the Commercial Litigation and Employment Law practice groups. She advises companies and litigates on their behalf on a wide range of employment and commercial litigation matters, including compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, discrimination and harassment, claims of wrongful termination, defamation, and breach of contract all over the country. She also works with clients to develop employee handbooks and advises on severance, noncompete and other employment-related agreements. Courtney earned her J.D. from the College of William & Mary and her B.A. from Carson-Newman College.
