Todd Murphy is a Partner with GRSM, located in the firm’s Chicago office. His practice is nationally-based, and involves commercial, tort defense, and insurance-related matters, with specialized focus on complex, class, and multi-party litigation. Todd is an experienced litigator, who has represented his clients in the areas of tort, environmental, product, premises, director and officer, corporate management, employment, and financial liability.
He also represents clients in class action, business, and commercial matters, including leasing, restrictive covenants, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud. He regularly counsels clients with regard to the formation, negotiation, and litigation of commercial contract issues. Todd has represented clients domestically, as well as internationally, including clients in China, Taiwan, Germany, Canada, California, Illinois, Indiana, Florida, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, New York, Texas, and Wisconsin.
Todd's approach to high-stakes litigation is multifaceted, and his cases routinely require the ability to effectively address multiple avenues of liability while being familiar with complex procedural rules. Todd has successfully tried many matters in both the state and federal courts of Illinois, as well as numerous courts throughout the United States, involving several complex areas of the law. He also regularly represents his clients in formal arbitration and at mediation.
