San Francisco Partner to Present at The Food and Drug Law Institute’s Conference in Washington D.C.

Gordon & Rees San Francisco Partner Kai Peters will be a featured speaker at The Food and Drug Law Institute's (FDLI) Advertising & Promotion Conference on September 27-28, 2016 in Washington D.C. Peters will join attorneys Marian J. Lee, Heather E. Rennie and Sonali P. Gunawardhana in presenting a panel discussion titled "Direct-to-Consumer Advertising" on Tuesday, September 27.

Peters' group will provide an update on recent FDA developments and legislative proposals relating to direct-to-consumer (DTC) advertising, along with the evolution of DTC advertising from an industry perspective. This discussion will shed light on the current impact of DTC on the learned intermediary defense, the state of the law and trends in the decisions, and potential future developments.

This annual event brings together the regulated industries and the regulators responsible for overseeing the advertising and promotion of prescription drugs, medical devices, biologics, and animal drugs. Attendees will learn about current issues, laws, new guidance documents, and recommendations for approaching the gray areas of medical products advertising and promotion.

This interactive conference will provide both a broad and deep understanding of how to advertise and promote in a highly regulated environment, offer practical insight through informative panel discussions, case studies, and networking opportunities with industry experts and peers. Representatives from four of the Food & Drug Administration’s (FDA) medical product centers will also provide the latest information on policy developments, enforcement activity, and future initiatives. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with FDA.
