Matthew joins the Pittsburgh office as a member of the Real Estate and Energy practice groups. He assists clients in the oil and gas industry in both litigation and transactional matters in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. Primarily, Matthew defends exploration and production (E&P), midstream and mineral buying companies in oil and gas litigation, with an emphasis on contract and lease disputes, personal injury claims, and property disputes. On the transactional side, Matthew handles due diligence review, title curative measures, and certified title opinions in oil and gas land acquisitions. Matthew earned his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law and his B.S. from Youngstown State University.

Jordan joins the Dallas office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. During law school, Jordan was an extern for Magistrate Judge Bourgeois of the Middle District of Louisiana and for Louisiana First Circuit Judge Guy Holdridge. Jordan earned his J.D. from Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center and his B.A. from Louisiana State University.

Heather joins the San Diego office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. She defends businesses in a wide range of matters, including claims of wrongful termination, retaliation and constructive discharge, on issues of harassment, disability rights, and management disputes. She is also experienced in successfully defending and counseling clients in commercial disputes/litigation, breach of contract/business torts, Government Tort Claims Act claims, shareholder derivative suits, premises liability disputes, construction defect suits, insurance disputes and trademark prosecution. Heather earned her J.D. from California Western School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.

Annamaria joins the Florham Park office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Annamaria was an Assistant Prosecutor at the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, where she developed significant litigation and advocacy skills. Specifically, she was involved with the investigatory and discovery processes of cases, extensive motion practice, oral advocacy, and conducted negotiations for case resolutions. Annamaria earned her J.D. from Rutgers Law School and her B.A. from Rutgers University.

Kourtney joins the Pittsburgh office as a member of the Real Estate and Energy practice group. She handles litigation matters affecting exploration and production (E&P) companies, gathering/midstream companies and well service companies. Specifically, she focuses her practice on property-related litigation matters in the Appalachian Basin, including breach of contract claims, lease disputes, mineral trespass actions, nuisance matters, quiet title actions, ROW disputes and personal injury lawsuits. Prior to joining the firm, Kourtney worked at several mid-sized firms in both Pennsylvania and Texas assisting with contract, corporate and civil litigation. Kourtney earned her J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law and her B.A. from Washington and Jefferson College.

Steven joins the Pittsburgh office as a member of the Health Care and Product & General Liability practice groups. He has extensive experience handling trial and appellate matters in high-exposure and high-profile cases for physicians, hospitals, and professional liability insurance carriers. He has also had primary responsibility for jury and non-jury trials in both state and federal courts in multiple jurisdictions. Steven earned his J.D. from Claude W. Pettit College of Law and his B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University.

Timothy joins the Chicago office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. His practice focuses on business litigation and employment disputes. Timothy has successfully tried multiple cases, including a two week federal jury trial, defended and prosecuted temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction hearings, and has significant experience in all aspects of litigation including mediation and arbitration through the American Arbitration Association, at trial and on appeal. His litigation practice covers such diverse areas as shareholder disputes, non-competition and non-solicitation disputes, class action litigation, complex supplier disputes, equipment leasing matters, real estate litigation, legal malpractice actions, product liability defense and mechanic's lien actions. He also represents corporate creditors protecting their rights in bankruptcy proceedings. Timothy earned his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School and his B.A. from Kalamazoo College.

Sarah joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Product & General Liability practice group. She focuses her practice on commercial and consumer breach of warranty cases for automotive manufacturers. Her practice includes matters involving alleged violations under the Song Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, California Consumer Legal Remedies Act and consumer fraud-based claims. Before joining the firm, Sarah practiced family law, representing divorce and family law clients in both simple and complex, contested dissolution of marriage, legal separation and nullity proceedings. Sarah earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and her B.A. from Claremont McKenna College.

Shaun joins the Boston office as a member of the Construction practice group. He represents both design professionals and contractors in a variety of complex disputes. Shaun regularly handles disputes from the inception of a claim through to litigation, and also has experience representing clients in both mediation and arbitration. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Shaun worked at a mid-sized law firm in Boston, Massachusetts, representing design professionals in all aspects of civil litigation. His representative experience includes involvement in complex projects such as commercial/residential structures, athletic stadia, subway and railway infrastructure, highway infrastructure, and various types of power plants. Shaun earned his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and his B.A. from Syracuse University.

Anthony joins the San Diego office as a member of the Real Estate and Business Transactions practice groups. His practice includes a broad range of transactional real estate matters, with a particular emphasis on commercial leasing. He represents both landlords and tenants in negotiating and drafting lease and sublease agreements for mixed-use, office, life sciences (e.g., biotechnology), industrial, and retail properties. He assists public and private real estate investors, developers, and owners in the acquisition, disposition, development, and management of various commercial properties. Anthony earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and his B.B.A. from the University of San Diego.

Erika joins the San Diego office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort and Employment Law practice groups. She has extensive experience litigating matters in both civil and administrative bodies. As a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group, she defends retailers, manufacturers, product suppliers, insurance companies and corporations against complex claims involving toxic exposure and product liability. As a member of the Employment group, she defends employers and insurance carriers against a litany of employment related claims, such as claims for wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour issues, and retaliation. Prior to joining the firm, she spent five years practicing insurance defense litigation with a focus on workers’ compensation and related employment matters at a firm located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Erika earned her J.D. from Marquette University Law School and her B.A. from Marquette University.

Elizabeth joins the Tampa office as a member of the Insurance practice group. She represents insurance carriers primarily against first-party property claims. Elizabeth joins Gordon & Rees with prior experience representing insurance carriers against a wide variety of first-party property claims as well as providing coverage analysis to carriers. Additionally, she has experience handling cases involving third-party liability claims. Elizabeth earned her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Florida.
