Soña Garcia is Senior Counsel in the Dallas office and a member of the Professional Liability Defense, Commercial Litigation Practice, Construction, Employment Law, and Tort & Product Liability practice groups. Ms. Garcia has litigated complex commercial cases involving the defense of corporations in business disputes where she has handled all aspects of defending cases, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs; deposing parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses; conducting fact witness interviews; arguing motions; participation in settlement negotiations and mediation; and trial preparation. Her experience in construction matters includes both defending and prosecuting claims for design defect, professional negligence, trespass, and nuisance. Her professional malpractice defense experience includes actions filed against attorneys, real estate brokers, and architects/engineers. Ms. Garcia's premises liability experience includes handling matters for supermarkets. Representative employment law matters include defending employers in matters involving allegations of discrimination, retaliation, and harassment under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, and state laws. Ms. Garcia has also been involved in real estate litigation defending condemnation actions, breach of lease matters, and cases involving zoning and land use changes. Her responsibilities include case management and strategy formulation, extensive investigation, all aspects of discovery, expert witness preparation and depositions, research and writing, and all aspects of trial preparation, and trial.

Ms. Garcia also has experience with pharmaceutical products liability and mass tort litigation, representing manufacturers in federal court and has experience with the day-to-day management of mass tort cases, preparing dispositive motions, Daubert briefing, assisting with the preparation of expert witnesses, and trial preparation.

Ms. Garcia also has had significant experience managing large electronic discovery collections, reviews, and productions in both Federal and State court and in response to government investigations.
